Nourishing Awareness in Each Moment

"Watching a bad TV program, we become the TV program.  We are what we feel and perceive.  If we are angry, we are the anger.  If we are in love, we are love.  If we look at a snow-covered mountain peak, we are the mountain.  We can be anything we want, so why do we open our windows to bad TV programs made by sensationalist producers in search of easy money, programs that make our hearts pound, our fists tighten, and leave us exhausted?  Who allows such TV progams to be made and seen by even the very young?  We do! We are too undemanding, too ready to watch whatever is on the screen, too lonely, lazy or bored to create our own lives.  We turn on the TV and leave it on, allowing someone else to guide us, shape us and destroy us.  Losing ourselves in this way is leaving our fate in the hands of others who may not be acting responsibly.  We must be aware of which programs do harm to our nervous systems, minds and hearts, and which programs benefit us."

Embrace the Unknown: Still not riding yet.

Embrace the Unknown: Still not riding yet.: "Due to gear issues I have yet to hit the trail. This happens when you decided to make your own panniers and bike racks, doing this is much ..."

Sunshine All Day

A bright, splendid day:  thought provoking Al-Anon meeting.  Taught Seated Qi Kong.  The energy is always good.  A drive through green countryside to Lynden Fairgrounds to the Gem Faire.  If you're in the area, don't miss it.  A remarkable day.  Michael and I sat on the deck surrounded by blooming geraniums, poppies, roses, Abyssinian red banana, huerchera, hostas, fushias, etc as the sun left late day shadows.  Walked the dogs in the dark under the guidance of Orion.

Bright Blessings to you.

Released...

Women on Writing (WOW) critique group gathered in a wild English garden today in the Eldridge area.  Clouds gave way to sunshine and I pulled my wide brimmed hat lower and moved deeper into the shade of the umbrella table.  I am working on a short story that has been filed away since 2007.  Everything has a germination time, so now I look to tending these words again that they might sprout and blossom.

My final visit to hand therapy!  Surgery was May 6th and today my hand is well formed, getting stronger and I just need to maintain home exercises and protect as I feel needed.  I wear a black lace fingerless glove with the hard black plastic brace when I drive or garden.  And lift my two pound weight to strengthen both arms.

I am in a bead-mania again.  It occurs every dozen years or so.  This time I am working exclusively with gemstones and the intention of each bead in bracelet, earrings or necklace.  Went to the Bead shop on Bakerview and had more fun than you can imagine.

A Gem Faire this weekend at the Fairgrounds in Lynden!

And the TAROT?  This day I pick up "The Wild Wood Tarot."  The cards come tumbling forth except for one.  That which I must address:  The Nine of Vessels:  Generosity.  Meaning:  Nature's open-hearted spiritual cauldron has a welcome for thos who approach the wters of knowledge with compassion.  they are blessed by regeneration.

Be well and listen to the animals.  Raven calls to me all day no matter what building blocks me from nature.

That's all from this bundle of stardust for now.

Remember encyclopedias...

...great shelves of books with old and inadequate information that you couldn't even pawn off at a garage sale?  And now we are deluged with the Information Age that could gag you and still not educate you.

However, I am grateful for this ease of access of opinions (if not always facts) and delight in friendships cyberborn.

Off to catch the Chi.  Teach Tai Chi and celebrate the slender column of light that filters through cedars to touch sword ferns.

Look to Sehkmet and follow the North Star.

Hot Pink Hat

I set out my hot pink hat with a red rose.  It matches my skirt and the flowing scarf around my neck.  By the time I take the dogs out and am ready to leave, the soft gray skies of midday shift into a downpour.  I go to my hat shelf and trade for the well worn black OR rain hat with velcro sides so I can flip up one side or both.  Today I will need them down to shield myself from heaven's tears.  I sling a black cloak over my summery outfit, hide books and gifts under my arm and walk out to the car.

Water spirits dance, rain faeries slither about as I walk through the gate, past flowers and a forest of Japanese maples to the Reiki healing circle.  It is good, gathering with friends, rain or shine, allowing the busyness of the day to wash away, and focus on Universal energies.

Blessings this day, especially to those who ride bicycles.

Sky water

Green grows the garden.  Slug haven.  Spotted fawns attack everything.  Flea Market in the rain.  Free fan.  It will get hot.  I was a Girl Scout.  I'm prepared.

The Day My Life Changed

Sunshine slants through the kitchen window.
The African violets glow.
Quanah's birthday.
